Electrochemical (ECG) Grinding for High-Precision Medical Point Production
AVNA’s Electrochemical Grinding (ECG) capability delivers precise, burr-free point grinding for medical wires and cannulas. This process enables consistent production of complex tip geometries—including Tri-Bevel, Menghini, Diamond, Trocar, and other custom styles—while maintaining excellent surface integrity.
By combining controlled mechanical grinding with electrochemical material removal, ECG minimizes heat and mechanical stress during processing. The result is exceptional positioning accuracy (±0.0001”/4”) and repeatability (±0.00004”), supporting tight tolerances in high-volume production. Compatible with materials such as 300 series stainless steel, 17-4 H900, and UHB-716, this capability is ideal for demanding medical device applications where precision and consistency are critical.
